ISLAMABAD: US Airforce C130 airplane arrived at Nur Khan Airbase Rawalpindi on Saturday to carry Military Attache Col Joseph Emanuel Hall.
However it returned without the diplomat as the Interior Ministry refused to issue him NOC. Pakistan has refused to hand over the US diplomat involved in the killing of Pakistani national in Islamabad. Earlier Pakistan and US had imposed reciprocal restrictions on each others diplomats in the respective capitals bringing another low in bilateral and diplomatic relations.
On April 7, Colonel Joseph Emanuel Hall ran a red light and rammed into a motorcycle killing two Pakistani civilians.
The Islamabad High Court on Friday on a petition filed by one of the deceased's father ruled that the US diplomat does not have absolute immunity in the country.
The court also granted two weeks to the Ministry of Interior Affairs to decide over placing his name on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Pakistan and US diplomatic ties have reached at the lowest ebb after US President Donald Trump new year tweet blaming Pakistan for US defeat in Afghanistan and playing double games with America in the war against terrorism. However Pakistan has categorically rejected the baseless allegations levelled by the US President. US had earlier imposed security related sanctions against Pakistan and refuse to re imburse the Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan.
