Lawyers boycott court proceedings throughout country over  May 12 tragedy

KARACHI: Black Day is being observed by lawyers throughout county today against the riots of May 12, 2007 in Karachi while court proceedings are also being boycotted by lawyers in entire country.


As per details, court proceeding boycott is continued by lawyers in entire country over the 12 May tragedy in Karachi. President Karachi Bar Association Mahmood ul Hassan said that court proceeding boycott is being done over the appeal of Sindh and Karachi Bar Associations while no lawyer would appear before court today.


Rallies are being staged by lawyers and political parties in the remembrance of May 12 tragedy while Karachi Bar Association General Body meeting is also being held today.


Strike continued in Islamabad Bar while lawyers in Hyderabad are also boycotting court proceeding over appeal of Sindh Bar Council.


President Baluchistan Bar Bilal Anwar Casi said that lawyers in entire province are not appearing before courts and observing black day.


Pakistan People Party would hold meeting regarding May 12 tragedy here at People Secretariat in Karachi while a rally has been organized by ANP in connection with May 12 over Bacha Khan Centre Banars. All Parties Conference is going to be held by Jamat-e-Islami regarding May 12 tragedy here at Idara Noor-e-Haq.
