ISLAMABAD (APP): Chairman Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday said martyrdom of freedom fighter Burhan Wani by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir has revolutionised Kashmir movement as life story of Burhan is same of every Kashmiri.

Talking to a private news channel, he said July 13 would be observed as Martyrdom Day in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir movement and to express resolve for continuation of freedom struggle till its logical conclusion.

He condemned the naked aggression, barbarism and ongoing firing by Indian forces on the people peacefully protesting against the killing of mujahid commander Burhan Wani and his two associates.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the public uprising had once again proved that Kashmir was not an administrative dispute or an issue of change in governance but was connected to the wishes and aspirations of the people and no solution to the dispute could be arrived by ignoring them.

Mirwaiz said Pakistan has made sincere efforts for dialogue with India on core issues including Kashmir but it was India which discontinued the talks.
