China makes an import offer to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - China is keen to boost its trade with Pakistan with an increase its imports of food items.

The Ambassador of China Yao Jing stated this in a meeting with the Minister Food Securities and Research Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan in Islamabad.

The Chinese envoy said that China has decided to import potatoes from Pakistan and a Chinese delegation is set to come to Pakistan soon in this respect.

He said that food items like cherries, potatoes, wheat, citrus, rice and mangoes will be imported from Pakistan by Beijing.

He told the minister that China wants to utilize the technical know-how of Pakistani seed experts to review the prospects and avenues of producing hybrid rice in China.
