ANF recovers over five tons drugs in operations

RAWALPINDI: (APP) Anti Narcotics Force has seized huge cache of narcotics weighing more than five tons worth Rs 15.3 billion in international market in four operations, ANF Spokesman said.
The Spokesman further said operations were carried out in Qilla Abdullah, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad and Sukkur which also resulted in arrest of four persons involved in drug smuggling and seizure of a vehicle.
The recovered drugs comprised 3.508 tons Opium, 1.607 ton Heroin and 5.7 kg Hashish.
Giving further details, the Spokesman said that ANF Quetta while carrying out intelligence led operation recovered 1.606 ton Heroin and 3.502 ton Opium.
The drug was stocked at a site situated in general area of Roghani, Tehsil Chaman District Qilla Abdullah.
In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla bearing registration number ZZ-428 at Khanka Dogran interchange and arrested two accused namely Abdul Wali Khattak and Yousaf Kakakhail both resident of Nowshehra besides recovering six kg Opium and five kg Hashish from their possession.
Both accused are cloth traders and used to smuggle narcotics which were concealed in their consignments.
In second operation ANF Lahore arrested a passenger namely Zahoor Ahmed Machi resident of Sargodha at Faisalabad International Airport while he was to fly for Saudi Arab via PIA flight No. PK 717 and recovered 1.260 kg Heroin which was tactfully concealed in the baggage.
ANF Sukkur also conducted a raid on drug peddler at Adam Shah Takri Shikarpur and arrested an accused namely Yasir Rehman and recovered 700 grams Hashish from his possession.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act while further investigations are underway.
