US, Afghanistan agree to continue fight against terrorism

The United States and Afghanistan have agreed to continue the peace process and the fight against terrorism in the war torn country until peace is achieved.

This was stated in a statement issued in Kabul after a meeting between Acting US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan and President Ashraf Ghani.

Both discussed the future of Afghanistan.

Shanahan also met General Scott Miller, the top US and NATO commander in Afghanistan, to discuss the situation on the ground before visiting Camp Morehead where Americans train Afghan special forces.
