Major 'organised' cyberattack against the country’s e-government infrastructure foiled
TEHRAN - Iran says it has recently foiled a major “organized” cyber attack against the country’s e-government infrastructure.
Speaking on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet session on Wednesday, Information Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi described the cyber attack as “very big.”
He added that the attack targeting the country’s “e-government infrastructure” was identified and thwarted by the country’s “security shield.”
The Iranian minister said he could not give any further details for the time being, adding that work was underway to extract different dimensions of the attack.
Back in June, Jahromi reported an unsuccessful American cyber attack against the country’s missile control system.
"The media ask whether the alleged cyber attacks against Iran did take place," Jahromi said in a tweet on June 24.
