The British Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee says violence targeting Myanmar’s Muslim minority amounts to ethnic cleansing.

The Committee in a report said that the violence against the Rohingya in Northern Rakhine State of Myanmar may also constitute crimes against humanity and even genocide.

It also underlined that the Burmese security forces bear ultimate responsibility for the violence on Rohingya Muslims .

Meanwhile, Amnesty International has urged the U.N. Security Council to end the deadlock in the face of ongoing crimes against humanity targeting Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar 's Rakhine State .

Head of Amnesty International's UN office in New York Sherine Tadros said the United Nations Security Council in its meeting, held to discuss the Rohingya crisis, gave disgraceful and inadequate response to this crisis.

Amnesty International also called on the UN Security Council to take concrete steps to ensure accountability of those responsible for crimes against humanity in Myanmar .
