5G technology in Pakistan to be introduced

ISLAMABAD: Minster for Interior and Planning Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said that the government has a plan to introduce 5G technology in the country after successful launch of 3G and 4G services.

Addressing an International Annual Trans-Eurasia Information Network NOC Workshop-2017 in Islamabad, Ahsan Iqbal said that by enhancing production capacity and improving standard Pakistan can stand among top ten economies of the world.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister stressed the need to introduce knowledge and information revolution in the country, adding that the government is establishing centres of excellence for artificial intelligence, cyber security, big data, cloud computing and robots.

While casting light on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said many countries have expressed their interest in joining the project.
