FT report on CPEC based on distorted, misquoted info: Chinese Embassy

ISLAMABAD: The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad Monday termed the report of Financial Times (FT) on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as ill-intentioned and based on distorted and misquoted information.

The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad Monday took notice of the report in Financial Times regarding remarks attributed to the PM’s Adviser Razzak Dawood on the CPEC as well as the clarification issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Textile of Pakistan, a press statement issued here by the embassy said.

The statement said that it was a firm consensus between China and Pakistan that CPEC was a mutually beneficial project and both the governments would carry it forward according to the needs of Pakistan and for the development of Pakistan.

Such ill-intentioned reports based on distorted and misquoted information only demonstrate that the report contributor had total ignorance and neglect of the CPEC or China-Pakistan traditional partnership, the statement added.
