LAHORE – Shahid Afridi has on Monday reached Lahore to witness the Independence Cup match between Sarfraz Ahmad-led Pakistan and Faf du-Plessis-led World XI.
He said that he has come to Lahore for his love of cricket and will witness the first high voltage match.
I am happy at the arrival of World XI cricket team, the former captain said.
Afridi further thinks that it would have been much better if Indian players had become part of the squad as the inclusion of a couple of Indian players could have sent a good message as sports can help resolve quite serious issues.
“It is a significant moment for every Pakistani. Efforts to resume international cricket are bearing fruit.”
The former all-rounder said that the credit for all the efforts goes to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi and his entire team.
