Pakistan - Australia to enhance defence and security ties: Australian Army Chief

Australia has appreciated Pakistan's efforts against terrorism and expressed commitment to further improve the bilateral collaboration in defence and security.

The understanding came during the meetings of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa with Australian leaders in Australia on Monday.

The army chief is on two days official visit on invitation of Australian army chief.

The army chief called on his Australian counterpart Lieutenant General Angus Campbell and the Naval Chief Vice Admiral Timothy Barrett.

He also met Australian Foreign Minister Ms. Julie Bishop and Defence Minister Ms. Marise Payne at Australian Parliament House.
