CJP reveals why three member bench is hearing Panama case review petitions

LAHORE – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has on Monday said that all state institutions should fulfill their duties according to the constitution.

Addressing the new judicial year’s full court reference, he said that the review petition filed by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was against three-member bench that is why a three-member bench would hear the review petition against Panamagate Case judgment.

The CJP said that the judges should be free from all the pressures.

Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said that a number of measures have been taken to address the issue of backlog of cases.

He proposed causelists are issued in advance, and the process of filing of applications for early hearing has been simplified.
