Swat Motorway project: Progress reviewed

PESHAWAR: (APP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Saturday directed completion of all codal and procedural requirements regarding of Swat Motorway so that it could be completed without any delay.
He was presiding over a meeting of public private partnership committee of Swat Motorway here. KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said, Advisor to Chief Minister on C&W Akbar Ayub, Chief Secretary, administrative secretaries and other relevant officers atended the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly discussed different dimensions of the project, including acquisition of additional land, construction of six interchanges, service areas, future extension, mode of payment and agreement between two partners.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that Swat Motorway would redefine future outlook of KP in terms of enhanced trade and commerce, industrialization, opening northern belt of the province to rest of the country.
He directed to acquire land up to 500 Kanals at each interchange for allied facilities and commercial activities including bus terminals, petrol pumps and restaurants.
