Pakistan Army 3 Majors dismissed, 2 awarded rigorous imprisonment: ISPR

ISLAMABAD – Three officers of the major rank were dismissed from service on account of breach of discipline and misconduct on Friday.
According to a press release issued by the ISPR, all three offices were found guilty of charges levelled against them.
Moreover, two majors were also awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years each for misuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities.
On August 20, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had confirmed life sentence to in-service army major.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief dismissed a major rank officer was from service for misusing his authority. The sentence, passed after the officer was tried by a Field General Court Martial, was confirmed by COAS.
The ISPR further said that Pakistan Army has strong and powerful accountability process.
