PM's 100 days programme to show proper direction, says Governor

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Wednesday said proper direction will be visible after the completion of Prime Minister's 100 days programme.
Addressing the members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) during his visit to the FPCCI office here, the Governor said that the government was taking concrete measures to meet the economic challenges.
He said the government was well aware of the economic situation, and through a roadmap the government would bring the economy out of crisis.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan accepts the challenges. He has also taken the government as a challenge and would definitely be successful," the Governor said.
He said the infrastructure of Greenline project had been completed and the government was looking for competent operating partner to run buses on the project. He said the masses would be provided quality and affordable journey through this project.
Imran Ismail said the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam, was taking extra-ordinary measures to counter street crimes in the city and his efforts had proved to be fruitful in some areas.
He said repair and installation of CCTV cameras was underway.
The Governor said fire tenders were being provided by the federal government to avoid increasing fire incidents in commercial areas of the city.
He said the incumbent government would take all possible measures for the resolution of issues being faced by industrialists so that they could play their due role in the uplift of the economy.
In this connection, he said a joint committee was being set up, which would have representation from FPCCI, KCCI and industrial associations.
The committee would hold meetings on a monthly basis and would present recommendations and strategies for the resolution of issues.
"Being the Governor, I will play a role of bridge between industrialists and the federal government," he assured the members of the FPCCI.
Besides S.M. Munir, FPCCI President Gazanfar Bilour, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik, FPCCI Vice President Mazhar Ali Nasir, Khalid Tawab and others were also present.
