DUBAI - Ireland is expected to play its first ever Test match against Pakistan in April/May next year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) hinted in a press release on Tuesday.

"Pakistan’s next red-ball match is expected against Ireland in April/May," said the ICC media release regarding Pakistan slipping a place in Tests after losing against Sri Lanka.

Ireland's first Test match against Pakistan is likely to be held in Dublin next year, an ICC official confirmed to cricket.com.au.

The match is expected ahead of Pakistan's tour to England in May 2018. However, an official confirmation regarding the exact dates and venue is pending.
