KP government innovative way to improve official communication

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to utilise WhatsApp groups besides traditional communication methods to modernise and improve official correspondence.
According to Performance Management and Reforms Unit, WhatsApp groups of all secretaries of the government departments, commissioners and deputy commissioners will be created to improve communication,reported a private news channel.
It said all the official notifications issued from the office of the chief secretary will also be sent to WhatsApp groups. The chief secretary said traditional methods of issuing notifications consume time, while WhatsApp will ensure quick dissemination of information to officials.
He said all the discussion in the specific WhatsApp group will be considered official and irrelevant discussions will not be allowed in these groups.
The Performance Management and Reforms Unit chief secretary will be the administrator of the WhatsApp groups.
