Key Afghan Taliban commanders killed in Afghanistan, claims Police

KABUL - Herat officials have confirmed the Taliban commanders were killed during an operation in Gozara district of the province.

At least four key Taliban commanders were killed in an operation by Afghan commandos in western Herat province on Tuesday, local officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The operation was launched in Gozara district of the province and the forces also “seized weapons during the operation,” a spokesman for 207th Zafar Military Corps Abdul Qayoum Nuristani said.

However, he did not provide further details.

The Taliban have not yet commented over the operation.
