Decision of FATA merger in KP not to be reversed: Governor

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Shah Farman said the decision regarding merger of FATA in KPK province could not be reversed and Prime Minister Imran Khan had ensured for provision due share of FATA in National Finance Commission (NFC) award.

Talking to a private news channel, he said 98 per cent administrated merger of FATA had been done and judiciary as well police system would be provided to the people of area.

The governor rejected the misperception about ending of quota for students of FATA, saying those who were not giving admission to them were doing wrong.
He said the government was taking decisions for the benefits of majority people rather to favour few people. Those who were opposing FATA merger had their personal interests, the governor added.

He said he had never demanded any position for his personnel interest but to serve the people.
Replying to a question, he said the role of governor and chief minister had clearly mentioned in the constitution of the country. He and CM were on same page and had best relations, he said.

Shah Farman said Pakistan was taking measures to make its boarder with Afghanistan more secure through fencing and wanted to make specific points of entrance for stopping terrorist activities.
