35 Afghan soldiers killed and wounded in deadliest attacks by Afghan Taliban

KABUL - In Afghanistan, twenty-four soldiers were killed and eleven others wounded after Taliban attacked defensive posts in Badghis province today.

In a statement, district chief Fazil Seddiq Seddiqi said hundreds of militants armed with guns and rocket-propelled grenades stormed security posts in Jar-e-Assyia in Bala Murghab district early in morning.

He said several militants were also killed and injured during the gunbattle but the number is not immediately known.

The militants took control of two security posts before the arrival of reinforcement.
