Indian Military continue to bleed in occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR - Militants on Friday attacked a guard post in Budgam district of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, triggering a gunfight with security forces in which a policeman was critically injured, a police official said. The cop, Shamim Ahmad, later succumbed to his injuries, news agency *ANI* reported.

Hundreds of such attacks have taken place in occupied Kashmir in recent months, where Indian Military and Paramilitary forces officers and soldiers have been killed by locals asking for freedom from India.

He said the militant attack on the post at Wardwan in Soibug area of central Kashmir was repulsed.

However, he said, a policeman was critically injured and has been admitted to a hospital. All arms and ammunition there are safe, the official said, adding the area has been cordoned off. ADVERTISEMENT

There have been several such attacks recently when militants attempted to snatch rifles from the policemen on duty.

Thousands of Indian Military soldiers have been killed in occupied Kashmir since the freedom struggle erupted in the valley in 1989.
