ISLAMABAD - Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khalid has lauded the role of Pakistani students in projecting positive image of the country through academic and cultural pursuits. Appreciating the performances of Pakistani students in Chinese educational institutions during “Pakistan Students Forum” organized by the embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, the ambassador said that over 25,000 Pakistani students were the third largest community in China .

He said that Pakistanis were the top recipient of Chinese scholarships terming it as a manifestation of the growing cooperation in education sector between the two countries, said a message received here on Monday. Masood Khalid said that the present government was giving priority to education, adding that that educational cooperation was now an important component of bilateral ties between Pakistan and China . He also referred to CPEC, which has opened up new opportunities for job creation and skill development of Pakistani youth. The Ambassador termed the students as an asset for Pakistan and urged them to work hard and observe unity in their ranks to be effective goodwill ambassadors of Pakistan in China . Around 400 students, including a large number of female students, from 42 universities in China participated in the event. The students actively participated in the interactive session and appreciated Embassy’s outreach efforts in providing an opportunity for sharing their views on various aspects of Student life in China . Earlier officers of the Pakistan Embassy gave detailed presentations on the status of current cooperation between Pakistan and China in educational, scientific, and cultural fields. The presentation on Consular and Community Services being rendered by the Embassy were also part of the programme.
