Indian NIA humiliating, intimidating Kashmiri leadership: HCBA

In Occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has condemned the summoning of the Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi in connection with a false case against him.

The HCBA in its executive members’ meeting in Srinagar said, summoning Mirwaiz is actually going to subject him to humiliation and intimidation, only because he is also spearheading the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.

The meeting said, by adopting such tactics India will not achieve anything, as this process is bound to further alienate the people of Kashmir.

The participants of the meeting also expressed serious concern over the slapping of draconian Public Safety Act on the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali and others.

They urged the international community to play effective role in getting them freed unconditionally.
