CM orders mobile cardiac unit in jail for Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: Spokesperson for CM Punjab Dr Shahbaz Gill has said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, on the request of Maryam Nawaz on Twitter, has directed the Punjab government to allocate a mobile cardiac unit for 24 hours for the Kot Lakhpat Jail.

He said doctors and technicians of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) would remain present in the mobile unit in three shifts.

He said all life-saving facilities which were needed in case of any emergency were available in the mobile unit.

Dr Shahbaz Gill was talking to journalists at the PIC here on Saturday while MS PIC Dr Muhammad Amir was also present.  Dr Gill said the PML-N was doing politics on the health of Nawaz Sharif that was regrettable.

He said the PTI believed in justice and equal treatment of every citizen. The Punjab government was providing all possible facilities to Nawaz Sharif as per jail rules, he added.

Dr Gill said he conveyed the message of the prime minister and the chief minister in his meeting with Nawaz Sharif.

The Punjab government was ready to provide medical facilities from any private or public hospital of his choice and the Punjab government had written a letter in this regard in which all these options were given, Dr Gill said.

In reply to a question from the media, he said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was waiting for his bail after that he wanted to go to abroad for treatment but the Punjab government had no authority on that matter because his case was in courts.

The spokesperson said the prime minister had given clear instructions to the Punjab government to provide all medical facilities as per rules to Nawaz Sharif.
