SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi given pre arrest bail by IHC

ISLAMABAD – The Chairman SECP Zafar Hijazi who was booked by the FIA on Supreme Court orders has applied for the pre arrest bail in the Islamabad High Court.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Tuesday accepted the bail before arrest plea of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) chairman Zafar Hijazi.
Ansar Sheikh, the counsel of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) chairman Zafar Hijazi filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking bail before arrest of his client.
The court raised objection on the petition and remarked that the application can only be filed relevant forum. However, the hearing was later fixed for the court of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani with the registrar’s objections.
Earlier, the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) had registered a case against the SECP chairman for alleged tampering in the record of Chauhdry sugar mills.
