Over 50 including Taliban, security personnel killed in Afghanistan clashes

KABUL: In Afghanistan, at least fifty three people including Taliban  and security personnel have been killed and ten others injured during different clashes.

According to  Afghan army spokesman Abdul Hadi Jamal, in Sayad district of Sari Pul province, the clash broke out when Taliban attacked government forces checkpoints resulting in the death of ten fighters and seven security personnel.

He said five more militants and five security personnel including the district police chief Abdul Basir Sayadi have been also injured.

On the other hand, in the Helmand province twenty five Taliban militants and four civilians were killed in a security operation while ten Taliban militants were also arrested alive in the Sangin district.

Meanwhile, seven police personnel manning a check-post have been killed in a Taliban attack in the Bala Baluk district of Farah province.
