Al-Azizia Case: Ex-PM Nawaz Sharif does not appear before NAB Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif did not appear before the NAB Rawalpindi to record his statement in the supplementary references filed in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments Limited cases.
The three-member investigation team led by the deputy director continued to wait for the former prime minister.
Meanwhile, the NAB Rawalpindi has decided to issue notice to the prime minister for not appearing before the NAB. The accountability court will also be informed about non-appearance of Nawaz Sharif.
The NAB Rawalpindi will filed both supplementary references in the accountability court next week.
Sources said that the NAB has received the transcript of an interview of Hussain Nawaz Sharif with Anchor Hamid Mir. The NAB had approached the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to get the recording of the interview, but the PEMRA responded that it does not keep records of programs beyond 90 days.APP/AFP
