PIA announces to launch another key international route direct flight

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is interested in operating direct flights to Frankfurt, Germany.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airline, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, made these remarks while chairing a meeting in Sialkot.

Arshad Malik said that operating passenger and cargo flights to the Scandinavian countries like Norway and Sweden through Frankfurt, Germany, will not only boost the airline’s business but will also facilitate local exporters. ------------------------------

He noted that restarting this route is, however, connected to PIA’s current business plan, which says that the airline is ‘interested’ in starting flights to Frankfurt, Guangzhou, and many other international destinations that were once part of PIA’s route network.

Contrary to the statement, there is no study or any pathway mentioned in PIA’s business plan to turn this dream into reality. ------------------------------

During the meeting, the chief executive officer of the national flag carrier also vowed to start direct flights between Sialkot to Madina next year.

Given the recent strides of the national carrier, one may hope that the airline will soon start operating direct flights on this much-anticipated route.
