PM directs ministries to ensure achievement of targets set during 100 days

Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed ministries to ensure achievement of the targets set during the last hundred days by formulating effective strategies.  

Chairing a special federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he said foundation of 'Naya Pakistan' has been laid.

The meeting, which lasted for nine hours, reviewed performance of twenty-six ministries, while performance of the remaining ministries will be reviewed at a later date.

The cabinet decided to make quarterly evaluation of the ministries' performance a regular feature.     

Giving details of the cabinet meeting, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said each ministry would be given more targets to achieve during the stipulated timeframe.

He said Prime Minister told the meeting that forty percent population is living below poverty line and stunted growth is forty-three percent in the country. The Prime Minister said the Cabinet is duty bound to improve the situation.

Imran Khan said the present government assumed charge at a very difficult time when the country lagged behind in various departments. He said to cope with the current situation of the country extraordinary work is needed to be done.

Prime Minister said that the government sincerely believes in changing the lot of the poor, which makes it different from the previous governments.
