Nawaz, Maryam get a good news from IHC

*ISLAMABAD: *The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday constituted another division bench to hear petitions seeking suspension of the sentences awarded to the members of the Sharif family in the Avenfield Apartments’ reference, making it the third in less than a month.

The newly formed bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb would take up the matter as Justice Aamer Farooq, who was a part of the previous bench, has left for summer vacations.

The court would hear petitions of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar against suspension of sentences.

In July, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani availed summer vacations after hearing Sharif family’s appeals against judgment of the accountability court, petitions seeking suspension of the sentences and a transfer application requesting IHC to transfer pending references to another accountability court
