Imran Khan to be sworn-in as PM on August 18: PTI

ISLAMABAD: PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry says oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan as Prime Minister of Pakistan will be held on 18th of this month.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, he said Imran Khan will neither stay in the Prime Minister House nor Punjab House as he will prefer to reside in a common house at the Ministers' Enclave.

He said the new prime minister can stay in the Punjab House for some time till the renovation work is completed at the preferred residence in the Ministers' enclave.

Fawad Chaudhry said the expenses of maintenance will be borne by Imran Khan himself instead of using state funds on the residence of the upcoming prime minister.

He also made it clear that all the expenses incurred on the security arrangements at Imran Khan's Banigala residence have also been paid by the PTI chief himself.

The PTI spokesperson said election for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly is held on the basis of secret ballot, while leader of the House is chosen through divisions of the House.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Faisal Javed Khan said cricket legends from India Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar have been invited to attend oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan.

He said superstars of 92 World Cup are also being invited to join the event.
