AJK to equate income tax system in line with principle of income tax in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The AJK Cabinet has decided to equate income tax system in line with principle of income tax in Pakistan.

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan presided over the Cabinet meeting.

Following 13th amendment in Interim Constitution act 1974, the AJK government gained financial autonomy. A committee headed by Chief Secretary was constituted to set modalities for reform in existing income tax system.

Earlier, income tax and other receipts were received by AJK Council.  Now all receipts will directly be deposited in AJK Account no101.

Addressing the cabinet meeting, raja Farooq Haider khan directed all departments to maintain financial discipline. He said a transparent mechanism will be adopted for collection of taxes and other receipts to boost revenue of the state.

The AJK Cabinet also unanimously adopted a resolution strongly condemning Indian conspiracy to change demography of Occupied Kashmir.
