*ISLAMABAD - NAB to file corruption reference against Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz. *
The reference is ready and has been sent to NAB Chairperson Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal for approval. If approved, it will then be filed in the accountability court.
The bureau is investing Malik Riaz and his son Ali Malik Riaz in a case regarding encroachment of land for their Bahria Golf City Murree project. They are accused of encroaching on land in Shamlat as well as illegally allotting land for the project.
Both Malik Riaz and his son have been named as suspects in the case.
The bureau is already investigating Malik Riaz in the Takhat Pari land encroachment case.
On March 21, the Supreme Court accepted Bahria Town’s offer of a Rs460 billion settlement in a case of encroachment along Karachi’s Super Highway. It stopped NAB from investigating or filing any more cases against Bahria Town Karachi.
