Former captain Shahid Afridi has reacted to Pakistan's record-breaking victory against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup. In the eighth match of the World Cup on Tuesday, Pakistan achieved the biggest target in World Cup history against Sri Lanka, thanks to brilliant centuries by Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan.

Pakistan successfully chased down Sri Lanka's target of 345 runs with 4 wickets to spare in the 49th over. Abdullah Shafique scored 113 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan made 131 runs before being dismissed. Chasing a target of 345 runs is the largest successful chase in the history of the World Cup by any team.

Previously, in the 2011 World Cup, Ireland successfully chased a target of 329 runs against England. Shahid Afridi took to social media to comment on Pakistan's record-breaking win, saying, "Achieving the biggest target in World Cup history against Sri Lanka, then the best innings by Abdullah and Rizwan in their careers, plus Hasan Ali's excellent bowling in the victory.

But improvement is needed in bowling, especially by the young bowlers." It should be noted that Pakistan's win against Sri Lanka in the World Cup has now given them an 8-0 score against Sri Lanka in Cricket World Cup matches.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have faced each other 8 times in One-Day World Cup matches, and on each occasion, the Green Shirts emerged victorious against Sri Lanka.
