SC directs Chief Secretary Sindh to draft a policy on Tharparkar

Supreme Court has directed the chief secretary Sindh to draft a policy, provide food and water in Tharparkar on an emergency basis.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo motu notice over deaths of more than 100 children due to diseases and malnutrition in Thar.

The court rejected the report submitted by Secretary Health Sindh regarding deaths of children in Tharparkar.

Attorney General for Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan requested the court for a forensic audit of the finances being spent on the health sector in Sindh.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Supreme Court Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of non-availability of Courts and Police in Tribal Areas after 25th Constitutional amendment.

Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice has fixed hearing of the matter on Monday.
