ISLAMABAD - Former PM Nawaz Sharif has given a 'guarantee' to government for return back to Pakistan, media report had revealed.Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi stated that ailing Nawaz Sharif has given a guarantee of returning back to the country after getting himself treated from the London.
Replying to a question, Nehal opined that Nawaz’s track-record proves that he will return back.
“I’ve heard that NAB is demanding guarantee [from government that Nawaz will return]. Nawaz Sharif, himself, has given guarantee in this regard. What type of guarantee? In the past, when Nawaz Sharif was handed over imprisonment sentence, he returned back to Pakistan to serve it”, Nehal was quoted as saying in the GNN program.Twitter Ads info and privacy link link On the other hand, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stated that authority to remove the name of Nawaz Sharif from Exit Control List (ECL) rests with Interior Ministry and the Cabinet Committee.
The anti-graft watchdog maintained that it would accept the decision taken by competitive authority in this regard.
The officials of NAB further added that its jurisdiction is valid within the boundaries of the country. They added that NAB had not opposed Nawaz’s pleas because of medical reasons.
The officials further added that NAB has not yet received medical reports of the ailing Nawaz and that anti-graft watchdog would take any decision after reviewing the reports of Nawaz Sharif.
