PM Imran Khan rejects proposal to give key slot to Khawaja Asif

*ISLAMABAD - PM Imran Khan has refused a proposal to appoint Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif as head of the key Public Accounts Committee (PAC).*

*Prime Minister Imran Khan asked that how could a convict hold a public office.*

According to the details, ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday held a consultative meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair and mulled over the appointment of PAC chairman. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Khawaja Asif’s names were came under discussion for the key slot.

Expressing annoyance over the proposal of Khawaja Asif’s name, PM Imran asked that how the government can appoint a person involved in money laundering on such an important post.

The premier stopped the consultation over Khawaja Asif’s name and asked to prefer the parliamentarian having good perception among the masses.
