IHC reserves verdict over reconciliation in Tayyaba torture case

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court reserved verdict over reconciliation in a Tayyaba torture case , whereby a judge and his wife were accused of allegedly torturing and abusing their 10-year-old housemaid.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani reserved the judgment after recording reconciliation statement by Tayyaba's parents Wednesday.

During the proceedings, Azam, father of minor housemaid apprised the court, he had forgiven Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar, for the sake of God and did not want to continue any legal proceedings against the accused.

Advocate General objected and argued that the girl's parents were not allowed to reconcile with the accused but the state.

Rizwan Abbasi, counsel for the Raja Khurram and his wife apprised the court that in the case of minors, parents would be authorized or (Wali) for reconciliation.

The couple have rejected the allegation towards them. (APP)
