US CENTCOM Commander discusses Afghanistan security with COAS

RAWALPINDI: (APP) Incoming Commander United States Central Command (US CENTCOM) General Joseph L. Votel on Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at General Headquarters.
During the meeting matters of mutual and professional interests with special emphasis on security situation in Afghanistan came under discussion, said an ISPR press release.
The visiting dignitary lauded the role of Pakistan Army for bringing peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, on arrival at General Headquarters, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
General Joseph L. Votel laid wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to Pakistan Army shuhada.
