NEPRA further increased electricity prices in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved a 89 paisa increase in the power tariff on Tuesday.

The increase has been made under the head of monthly fuel charges adjustment from January.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested to increase the power rate by Re 0.9270 per unit. The NEPRA had held public hearing on the fuel adjustment charges (FCA) on February 25.

It will be applicable on all lifeline consumers of Distribution Companies (DISCOs) on the bills of March. However, this increase will not be applicable on the consumers of K-Electric.
