AJK PM urges Pakistan to raise Indian LoC violations, atrocities at int'l forums.

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has called upon the Government of Pakistan to raise the issue of Indian aggression at Line of Control (LoC) and atrocities in held Kashmir at international forums, including the United Nations, as a party of the conflict.

"Pakistan is a guarantor of the right to self determination of people of Jammu and Kashmir as the member of the UN Security Council and a party of the dispute as well having the right to raise the issue at the international forums," he said while addressing the oath taking ceremony of newly elected office bearers of Central Press Club here.

The ceremony was also attended by former Prime Minister and head of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) AJK President Ch Latif Akbar, senior vice President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) AJK Khawaja Farooq Ahmad, senior Minister AJK Ch. Tariq Farooq, ministers, secretaries of the government and a number of local political leaders.

The AJK Prime Minister said the LOC violations had become a daily routine for the past several months as another woman was killed in Neelum Valley on Wednesday.
He said India might proceed to any misadventure on LOC as the BJP lead government was willing to escalate the situation to win the coming elections in the country.

The Prime Minister said the resistance movement going in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) was an indigenous one and Indian Army had failed to suppress it despite using all tactics of atrocities and draconian laws.
He said the conflict resolution was needed between Pakistan and Indai, and not the conflict management.
He complained that national media particularly electronic media was not giving due coverage to the Kashmir issue, Indian atrocities and human rights violations.

He could give them paid advertisements to air killings and blinding our innocent kids in the hands of Indian army. "If you air wedding news of actresses and death news of Qadir Khan, an Indian actor, for hours and do not give time for killings of innocent children in Kashmir, you are not a national media to claim privileges from the tax payers money," he added while referring the speech of newly elected President of Press Club Tariq Naqash that the media had turned into a corporate sector and the government had to invent new tools to catch its attraction to promote the Kashmir cause.

He ruled out the possibility of resolving the Kashmir issue through bilateral talks with India, which, he said, was not willing to resolve the dispute. He suggested the Government of Pakistan to take the issue at international forums as a party of the dispute and guarantor in the UN resolutions to ensure right to self determination to people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the Gilgit Baltistan (GB) was the part of disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir, therefore, its people should be given a political set-up like AJK to ensure their rights and uplift at par with other parts of the country. The GB had also been given the status of local authority by the United Nations, he claimed.

He said by getting executive authority of revenue authority, AJK's income had been increased by Rs. one billion. He, however, said he was ready to improve the flaws if any in 13th amendment through a fresh 14th amendment.
