US daily "The Blade" urges Trump Admin to keep alliance with Pakistan in fighting terrorism

US daily

An American newspaper The Blade has emphasized the Trump administration to give careful comprehensive consideration before moving to cut off aid to Pakistan.

An editorial, entitled "Hang On To This Ally" published in Toledo, Ohio, said there are many reasons for the United States to fight to keep this alliance. One is our historic ties to Pakistan. Another is that our nation does not have an overabundance of allies in the world, and this is even more true in Pakistan’s part of the world.

The Newspaper Blade also pointed out that Pakistan permits the shipment to Afghanistan contains almost all the materiel the U.S. forces use in Afghanistan, and called it “a substantial form of assistance.”

The editorial noted that at the time, when the Trump’s government is seeking to switch America’s close alliance in South Asia from Pakistan to its India, its relations with Pakistan are getting worse.
