Strong bonds of Pak, China ties to further grow: PM
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has emphasized upon expanding people-to-people contacts with China and collaboration in various areas, ranging from trade and commerce to education and culture.
He was talking to Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to Pakistan and reiterated strengthening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations.
He stated that deepening the strong bonds of friendship and multi sector cooperation between Pakistan and China would continue with great fervor as ever before.
He expressed the confidence that Ambassador Yao will actively contribute towards smooth and expeditious implementation of the CPEC projects.
The Ambassador affirmed to play his part in realizing the vision of Chinese and Pakistani leadership for the benefit of people of the region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said there is a lot of trade potential between Pakistan and Nigeria and the two countries can utilize it for the benefit of their people.
He made these remarks during his meeting with High Commissioner of Nigeria in Pakistan Ashimiyu Adebayo Olaniyi , who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan can provide cooperation to Nigeria in various sectors including health, infrastructure, education and human resource management.
He said brotherly countries can help each other through sharing of expertise.
In this context, he emphasized the need for regularly holding the Pakistan - Nigeria Joint Ministerial Commission meetings.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Pakistan and Nigeria share many commonalities and also face similar challenges.
The Nigerian High Commissioner thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and expressed his strong commitment to further expanding bilateral relations.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador Olaniyi on his appointment to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister also recalled his meeting with President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari on the sidelines of 9th D-8 Summit in October last year.
