Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by 8 runs in the second Twenty20 match of the Pakistan Super League 2017 here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Chasing an easy target of 137, Lahore Qalandars began with confidence but soon they were losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out when they needed just nine runs from as many balls.
They made 128 off 18.4 overs with five of their batsmen could get into the double-figures.
Their main scorers were Jason Roy (27), Grant Elliott (26), Sunil Narine (26) and skipper branden McCullum (20).
Hasan Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Zulfiqar Babar, all three left-arm spinners, took two wickets each for Quetta Gladiators .
Earlier, the Quetta Gladiators batsmen after being put into bat could not resist the bowling attack except south African allrounder Rilee Rossouw and upto some extent Asad Shafiq.
The team was restricted to 136 for nine in the allotted 20 overs.
Rossouw made a brilliant fifty, scoring 60 off 47 balls with three fours and two sixes while Asad scored 29 off 28 balls with four boundaries for Quetta Gladiators .
For Lahore Qalandars , medium-pacer Mohammad Irfan Junior was the most successful bowler with three wickets for 26 runs while off-break bowler Sunil Narine and left-arm medium-pace bowler Sohail Tanvir claimed two wickets each.
