North Korean Military Chief sentenced to death

PYONGYANG: North Korea’s Military Chief General Ri Young-gil has been sentenced to death for corruption charges.
General Ri Young-gil was facing corruption accusation since August 2013 for using his position and power to pursue personal gains.
It is claimed that General Ri was sentenced last week.
General Ri was absent in joint meeting of party and military and also was not seen in satellite launch events.
Ri had been accompanying Kim on several inspection trips to military exercises and ministry of People’s Armed Forces.
Ri was appointed to the post of Military Chief in 2013.
Kim had also executed his Defence Minister last year.
