82% of Afghan Refugees are residing in KPK and Baluchistan: UNHCR Report

PESHAWAR: The report of United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) revealed that 82% of Afghan Refugees are living in KPK and Baluchistan.
As per details, the report further stated that 11% refugees are living in Punjab while 4% in Sindh province. 2% of Afghan refugees are residing in Islamabad and less than 1% living in AJK.
86% of Afghan refugees are ethnically Pashtun while 6% are Tajiks. The Afghan nationals who belong to Uzbeks ethnicity are 2% and others are 6%.
UNHCR added in report that Pakistan is hosting 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees which is the largest number of refugees in the world. However approximately one million unregistered Afghan refugees are also residing in Pakistan as per the government sources.
