Pakistan Foreign Office strongly reacts over Indian mass propaganda campaign against Pakistan
Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry on Thursday condemned India for its mass propaganda campaign to malign Pakistan and international institutions.
In a weekly briefing, the spokesperson said that India had failed to damage reputation of Pakistan despite its malicious activities.
His statement comes after EU Disinfo Lab, an international research organization, uncovered an Indian network of disinformation involved in maligning Pakistan. In its campaign, which is dubbed as “Indian Chronicles” by the researchers, Delhi resurrected dead websites, NGOs, think tanks and even impersonated persons who have died. The network works in Geneva and Brussels to garners support for Members of European Parliament (MEPs) for India and discredit Pakistan and other opponents.
FO spokesperson said Pakistan also condemned Indian move to target Muslim youth on the pretext of anti-conversion law, which is dubbed by Indian media as “Love Jihad”.
Chaudhri said that Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message on the 36th Saarc Charter Day called for regional cooperation for the betterment of humanity.
Responding to a question, he said that people in illegally occupied Kashmir are under siege since India has revoked its special status. He said that three innocent Kashmiris were killed in Pulwama on Wednesday, adding that Indian forces martyred 95,728 Kashmiris in extra-judicial killings and fake encounters.
