ISLAMABAD - Wasim Akram clinches much deserved key post in Paksitan Cricket Board.
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has emerged as the best choice to lead the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) cricket committee.
Akram, who is the most senior former cricketer in the committee following the resignations of Mohsin Khan, and PCB CEO Wasim Khan, has now become the favorite for this post.
Earlier, Chairman PCB, Ehsan Mani had said that they will appoint an independent chair of the committee who has experience on both domestic and international levels. ------------------------------
Mani made these remarks while announcing Wasim Khan’s exit from the post. He said that the move was necessary to maintain the autonomy of the committee.
Now that Wasim, Mohsin, and Misbah are unavailable, senior PCB officials are hopeful that the legendary bowler will take up the responsibility.
As per inside sources, PCB is going to formally approach Akram to take charge as the committee head. The decision is due within the next 15 days before the series against Bangladesh.
