Directorates to check violence against women being established in Punjab

Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine says the provincial government is setting up directorates to check violence against women in the province.
In an interview, he said the Provincial Human Rights Department is setting up Human Rights offices at tehsil and district level to eradicate human rights violations and violence against women.
He said violence against women is intolerable and PTI government is determined to introduce legislation in order to protect women from all kinds of violence.
The provincial minister said the government is also committed to protect minorities' rights and tangible steps are being taken to ensure their safety.
